Question:
Has anybody used a product called Scargo for their incision . . .

and if so how did it work for you, and when did you start using it after surgery.    — Diane S. (posted on November 25, 2003)

Yes. Started at 4 weeks (not before). It will not prevent or help a keloid, but it helps FADE the scar. It does help keep it supple. I had to get injections to make the keloid lie down, but use the Scargo to fade the red. I've also used it on old scars from other things. Had a little dark brown scar on my leg, looked like a round paper-punch thing? Very distracting, to me. I faded it back to pretty close to the color of my other freckles, which is good enough for me. One bottle lasts FOREVER. A drop goes a long way. It was originally suggested to me by the PS.

Hello. Topical silicone gel sheeting will help flatten and fade established scars, but is best used as a preventative. Ask your doc about it. Can be pricey.
