Question:
I am struggling with the chewable vitamins and thinking about liquid ones.
I was wondering if there are many post-ops that prefer taking the liquid vitamins over the chewable or pill form and what type did they take. I especially am having a hard time with the calcium tablets from Twin Labs they are huge and I need four a day. Just was curious what others were taking. Would appreciate suggestions. — Diane S. Try the calcium from vitalady. They come in a gelatin capsule and are much
easier to swallow.

I tried some liquid vitamins from GNC. And I opened it up and the first
thing my husband said to me was... that looks like baby poop. And then he
tasted it for me (brave man) And he said.. it tastes like #$%^!!!!!!! He
said... Michelle, in my family we have a saying, "If it looks like
sh*t, and smells like sh*t.. and tastes like sh*t... it probably is
sh*t." I gagged down a swallow.. ran to the bathroom and have it
still in my fridge. I thought the chewables were nasty but they taste so
much better than the liquid vitamins I've tried already!

I currently am using the Isotonix multi-vitamins which is a powder that you
mix with water and drink. I feel good and that's a good sign, however I
think that I probably won't be reordering when these are through. A couple
of reasons are that I think that they are overpriced. Those post-ops that
are interested in maintaining good health are always looking for a good
vitamin program and many times are willing to pay too much for it. I don't
think that for us to stay healthy necessarily should cost an arm and a leg.
Also, I've done some reading and have decided that I want to purchase
vitamins that USP (U.S. Pharmacopeia) approved. Because vitamins aren't
regulated by the FDA, USP is another agency that ensures that what the
vitamins are said to contain, actually do. Mobility is a factor for me too
- I want to be able to carry around my vitamins so that on days that my
schedule gets haywire, I'll always have them available. I think liquid
vitamins, for me anyhow, aren't as easily toted around. Personally, I
haven't had any issues with taking pill or capsule forms - but I do know
that some of them are big. Good luck.

I agree with another poster about the calcium. The brand is Nature's
Science, and they are in a capsule form. They are still large, but
surprisingly, have never bothered me. They must dissolve very quickly. I
also got mine from vitalady.com. I'm still using children's chewable
multi's and chewable Vit C. I thought at first I might prefer liquid, but
this regimen has been fine so far. For the iron, I use Sundown brand
carbonyl, which I also got from vitalady, but I recently saw it in my local
Eckerd drug store.

I've found that chewable vitamins can upset my stomach, however I found the
liquid vitamins are not that bad. i haven't seen any liquid calcium
tablets, but you may want to check the product forum to see if there are
any listed (http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/list-products.phtml)

Personally I am able to chew the childrens vitamins, but I have been
researching switching to another type and brand.
As for calcium, Viactiv (or generic) offer a good source and the chocolate
ones taste like tootsie rolls.
