Question:
I'm 3 weeks post-op and have lost 32 lbs. Is that average or should I be losing more?

i WAS WORRIED WHEN I FIRST HAD SURGERY AT ABOUT THE RATE i WAS LOSING
TILL...My doctor put things in perspective. if you have lost 30 pounds in 3
weeks then that is 10 pounds a week , what will you be in 6 weeks at that
rate?? .remember you lose till the 18 month you will disappear! yes you
are doing fine and will for several weeks off and on ,then you will slow
somewhat in what you lose a week , don't get alarmed this is how it works.
you are doing great at 3 weeks. check with your doctor on the amount you
should be losing each visit.

10 pounds a week is great! As long as you are following your doctors plan,
you will do just fine. And this is coming from a person who SWORE she
would never lose a pound. ~Sidney~ Openn RNY 10-23-02 down 120+ and

First, you are doing great - congratulations. Now, for the lecture - don't
compare your weight loss to that of anyone else. There are so many factors
involved - the amount of weight you need to lose, your metabolism, your
activity level, your calorie intake to mention a few. There is no
"normal" - it varies from person to person. If you are following
your surgeon's after care plan and eating and drinking properly, the weight
will come off - maybe slower than others and maybe faster - you are a
unique individual and you will lose at an invidual rate. Keep up the good
work.
