Katie- If you are planning on having your surgery done laparoscopically,
you should consider not having any alcohol for at least two weeks before
the surgery--- this will help to shrink the size of your liver (which has
to be flipped over so the surgeon can have a better field of vision for the
operation). Good luck.

You better enjoy the fact you can drink now because after the bypass you
will be lucky if you can drink 1 drink in two hours with out crawling out
the door to pass out in your car... I can go out at 8pm and have 2 drinks
all night and I will be dancing on the bar by 1am.. Cant drive and cant
really walk either, I thank my husband for him coming with me and taking
good care of me,he respects the fact that I still like to have fun and he
wont let me go alone because of how easily I can get drunk now. I am not
an alcoholic by any means but we do go out 1 time a month.
