Question:
I am 3 weeks post op and 1 week out of eating soft foods. I have a constant crampy
feeling in my stomach. more like after you have the flu. I am passing gas and going to the bathroom and on meds for acid but still feeling like i want to throw up everyday. any idea?? — roxanne36 (posted on August 24, 2003)

Maybe try mushier foods, take tiny (and I mean tiny) bites and then take 5
min in between each one. Only do an ounce at a time. It sounds like you're
taking in too much at a time too fast.(I had the same problem)

Nausea and crampiness are normal in the first few weeks. Be sure you are
not aggravating it by eating too much, eating too fast or drinking with
your meals. Take your time and chew everything thoroughly too. I had the
same thing and it does eventually pass but if it doesn't, or if it gets
worse and you start vomiting a lot, please call your doctor. :)

I think that you may be overeating and not knowing it. PLEASE PRE-MEASURE
ALL your food and drinks. I was so sick in the beginning. I felt as if I
was pregnant with 10 children! I began to pre measure everything into
little cups and I swear the problem went away! My doctor wanted to put me
on meds but I didn't want to be dependant on meds. I measured all my food
and drinks and ALWAYS left something on my plate or in my cup. You have to
take it eay with your new pouch and body. You will eventually get use to
it all but it takes time. Don't rush it I am 10 months post and can't
believe it! It just goes so fast! Congrats on being on the lighter side
of life!
