I was in a health store the other day and they said the Soy protien is more
for women. It has estrogen in it. The whey is suppose to digest easier
but has bad taste. I like the Soy Protien better. Hope this helps

As Kent said, soy is supposed to better for women and whey is supposedly
better for men. Whey protein is dairy based, and in my personal opinion,
tastes MUCH better than soy. I'm actually somewhat addicted to my whey
protein shakes, wheres when I used to try the soy protein shakes, I had to
choke them down.

Soy protein is not the best source for post ops whether male or female. It
is not as complete or absorbable as whey protein. I actually notice more
consistent weight loss when I have a whey based protein shake every day
(Real Meals). It also seems more filling to me.

Soy is from soybeans which sounds good, but my nutritionist says whey (as
in "eating her curds and whey") isolate is much prefered for
protein.

Soy binds with thyroid hormone, so if you have any problems there, avoid
it.

As someone who enjoys getting much of his protein from shakes and drinks, I
tend to gravitate to whey. Whey, supposedly, is more easily absorbed
although soy is cheaper. Regardless of what you choose, it sure beats
eating cans of tuna fish to get the same amount of protein in your diet.
Good luck.
