Question:
DOES NEOSPORIN HELP WITH SCARRING POST LAP RNY?
Has anyone tried neosporin on their scar post lap rny? If so, did it help or not. And if it didn't does anyone know what will help with the scarring? Just curious. — Tanya F. (posted on July 30, 2003)

AT MY SUPPORT GROUP WE HAD A GUEST PLASTIC SURGEON WHO SAID NEVER, NEVER ,
NEVER PUT NEOSPORIN ON YOUR SURGICAL SCARS. HE SAID TO USE SILICONE
SHEETING. MY WEIGHT LOSS SURGEONS OFFICE SELLS IT AND SO DOES THE PLASTIC
SURGEON. HE SAID YOU CAN BUY IT AT ANY DRUG STORE. MY BROTHER USED IT AND
IT SMOOTHED HIS SCAR OUT VERY WELL. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MINE TO
NEED IT. BUT IT DID IMPROVE THE APPEARANCE OF HIS SCAR VERY MUCH. IT
STICKS ON LIKE TAPE(CUT IT TO FIT THE SCAR) AND YOU TAKE IT OFF DURING
SHOWERS AND PUT IT BACK ON AFTER.
