Question:
Almost 3 weeks post op and Dr. says I can up my diet to any food.....
that I am able to tolerate. I was just wondering if anyone has some good ideas, suggestions, or recipes. I know it is going to be a lot of soft foods and that is fine. I will be trying to take in as much protein this way since I can't tolerate the shakes or anything. Surgery 4/9 and -21 pounds. Thanks to all and good luck to all!!!! — reneagemini (posted on April 29, 2003)

Hi Renee, I joined the yahoo group OSSG-Protein
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-Protein/) and found some great low carb
recipes there in the 'Files' section. Also, you may wish to check out
www.atkinscenter.com for his low carb recipes. Many blessings, Robin

Renea- You're still 3 weeks out- so like you said it will still be alot of
soft foods. Dont go straight for steak or raw veggies! Anything like that
is still going to be hard to process. Some good things I ate at that time
was cheeses, yogurts, protein shakes, eggs, deli sliced turkey and chicken,
cooked veggies, fish, etc. Goodluck to you!

Mozarella cheese sticks were and are a God-send to me post-op. Very easy
to nibble into tiny bites and don't go sour in the mouth. Settled very
well on my stomach. I tried eggs but they nauseated me for quite a
while...many do well on that though. Tuna on crackers (or straight from
the can if you like). Good luck!
