By the standard that most set you're not dumping, but sugar and fats can
cause excess water to enter your bowels (very much like dumping), hence the
diarrhea.

I became lactose intolerant after surgery. However, I did not know this. I
had the runs for days until my doc said cut out dairy and see what happens.
Now I use lactaid and I am much better but still can not eat a lot of
dairy.

Are these the only things that give you diarrhea? You could be dumping-
heck it's such a broad term, and everyone develops different symptoms. Does
this happen after other things with sugar? I would just stay away from it
for now and see if it keeps up. But why would your doctor say that you
wouldn't dump after RNY? Seems strange to me, no one can really predict
whether you will or not after surgery-not even a doc- just all depends on
your body! so it may be dumping. Goodluck to you!
