Question:
Where in Walmart....

Finally, a Walmart SuperCenter has opened in our area. I read posts here all the time of great products you have "purchased at Wal-Mart". Tell me-what SECTION of Walmart has the soy crisps and the jerky nuggets etc. that this site mentions. Is there a diet section or food section? The workers were no help--because they were just kids who didn't know what I was talking about and just began working when the store opened 10 days ago. Some direction please----thank you!!!    — Wannabe A. (posted on April 12, 2003)

In our Wal-Mart Superstore, it's near the back in the snack/chips area. I have tried many of their brands of beef jerky and I started with the Jack Links but I much prefer the Wal-Mart Pepper brand of jerky. Always very tender. I don't know where the soy crisps are as I don't tolerate soy well, so I've never looked for them.

In our supercenter the baked Lays, specialty diet foods (rice cakes etc) are on the end of the fruit juice isle... the beef jerky is on the isle with the beer and peanuts, popcorn etc... just ask a friendly associate. Also on the ends of the isles there should be a picture frame with items in alphabetical order followed by the isle #...

At my WalMart, the soy nuts are in the produce section. The brand is Good Sense and they have a rack by the lettuce and stuff with soy nuts, pumpkin seeds, trail mixes, etc. Jerky is at the check out and on the chip aisle. Protein bars and supplements are near the pharmacy.

In the sugar aisle, you'll find turbinado sugar in a zip-loc type bag that sits on the shelf. In the pie filling aisle, they'll have no-added-sugar Lucky Leaf cherry pie filling and apple pie filling. I have a great recipe for apple crisp and cherry crisp with a crumbly cinnamon streusal topping. Check out my profile page or web page at www.freewebs.com/recipes-after-rny Good luck to you!
