Question:
Does anyone...............
get severe stomach cramps when they need to have a bowel movement (yup more potty talk hehe) Since surgery, life is great. I've never been sick, I feel wonderful, can eat anything I want. My only real complaint, I get HORRIBLE paints/cramps that seem to come out of no where. I feel like I'm in labor, It took a few of these attacks- to now recognize this means I need to go to the bathroom. Does anyone else ever eperience this after surgery ? Any suggestions ? Or do I just need to live with this ? Wabbit Lap RNY Nov 18th 2002 327/255/175 — WABBIT F. (posted on March 8, 2003)

Hi! Lap RNY May 23 2002 287 -130 at 157. Yep, me too! Terrible, Terrible,
sharp stabbing pains. Never before Surgery did I have to go through this. I
was scared to death the first couple of times because I thought something
was really wrong!! I would have died of embarassment if I'd had my Hubby
take me to ER only to discover that I only had to go potty! I don't have a
solution for you, sorry, but I'm with you on it, and at least I'm lucky and
only GO every 3rd day or so. Have you tried any fiber drinks? I thought
that that might help me, maybe our intestines are straining and thats whats
causing the pain?.......lol.....I don't know, just a thought! GOOD LUCK,
I'll keep an eye on your responses!

Happens to me too. It seems to get better with the passage of time.

Yup, me too. I think this is the most negative feature of the surgery for
me so far. I need to go in and out of the bathroom 2 or 3 times each
morning before my stomach is settled. I hear it gets better.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I didn't know at first what it was
either, but sometimes the cramps are so bad, I have to curl in a ball and
let it pass. Then I have to use the bathroom. It pretty much happens EVERY
time I have to go to the bathroom, definately not fun! I', 9 months
post-op and this problem hasn't decreased for me at all, but I hope it
eventually will. Goodluck to you!

Yes, I too have experienced this only one time, thanklyfully. It was
horrible, I was down stairs at work, when it started, I felt the odd
gurgling in my stomach, and thought it was just gas. I decided I should get
back upstairs to my work area, and as I was on my way, I prayed that there
was no one in the bathroom. When I got there I was in a full body sweat,
and thought I was gonna pass out!!!! Don't know what caused it, and pray it
does't happen often. Melissa
