Stacey, you sound just like me! I had surgery 4/10/02. Prior to surgery I never had regular periods. I however knew from my past that when I was at a more normal body weight for me, my period came like clockwork every 28 days. I got my period in July 2002 never got another, got a pregnancy test and found out I was pregnant!! I really thought I couldn't get pregnant. Guess I was wrong. Well, I had a miscarriage within the week of finding out. So, it is quite possible that you can now conceive. You should visit your gynecologist to be sure of everything. Also, I don't know what your surgeon says about pregnancy, but mine says to wait at least a year and a half.

Stacy, I think it's a good idea for you to go see your OB/GYN for an exam. I also believe it's quite possible that you'll be able to get pregnant. There is a Yahoo group that is devoted to post WLS pregnancy. Go to www.yahoo.com, choose groups, then do a search for 'ossg pregnancy'. I'm reasonably sure this is an active ongoing group and you will probably find quite a lot of the kind of information you're seeking. Good luck!

At my consult, my surgeon spent a good deal of time stressing to me that as I lost weight I would become more fertile, and that I need to seriously think about whether I want more children, and methods of birth control, etc. So based on that, and pending a gynecological exam, I'd think you should be able to. :)
