I went with 120 teenagers (marching band and chorus) to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure about 4 weeks post op. My advice: if the hotel offers any sort of breakfast, call and see what they offer. I took packets of instant oatmeal, powdered milk, cans of Choice DM (like Ensure but a lot less sugar), small cans of V-8 juice, some packets of liquid protein supplement, small containers of unsweetened applesauce. The first morning at the hotel, I found out that they had packets of oatmeal and small containers of low fat, low sugar yogurt available, as well as skim milk. I was able to find things I could eat - even at 1 month post op, in the parks. Chicken is usually easy to come by, and I could even eat a few french fries. I carried a can of Choice DM with me. It wasn't the finest cuisine, but I made it and did just fine. And I was just switching from pureed to soft foods. Good luck!
