Question:
Would Mo be considerd pre-exsisting
My insurance (BeechStreet PPO) has a pre-exsisting clause. Does anyone know if Morbid Obesity would be considerd pre-exsisting or not???? — Angel S. (posted on January 26, 2003)

Does your policy spell it out in black and white what they consider
pre-existing? If they don't, you have a good chance of fighting them on
anything. At least that is what I think.

Did you have another policy before you got your current one? If so, did
you have it within 60 days of getting the current one? Pre-existing
conditions clauses cannot be used against you if those two things are true.
It's a federal law. If this is a new policy and you were not covered
during the 60 days prior to getting it, they can only define pre-existing
as something you had treatment for during whatever time period they
stipulate for pre-existing conditions. So, if you did not see a doctor who
'treated' you for being MO, it is not considered a pre-existing condition.
