Congrats on your upcoming anniversary. My surgery was March of 2002. I
started at 275 pounds and I am down to 130. I am 10 months out also and I
really don't have a food plan that I stick to. Sometimes I will eat
breakfast. Usually sausage and eggs or yogurt. For lunch I do either soup
for part of a hamburger. Depends on what I am in the mood for. I eat about
a kids size meal so as long as there is some kind of protein in it then I
am okay. Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help.

I actually had to start going by a plan. I started at 385 and now I am 200.
I lost this weight in 1 year. I hit the weight I want to be at. So what I
do is eat 1 meal of other then pure protein and 2 meals of just protein.
Like some times I will have a chicken cesar salad. And then my other meals
will be just protein. You still have to make sure that you get your
protein. Just change one of your meals to something other then protein. I
will usually make that meal greens of some sort. Leafy veg's work really
well for me.

I am 2 1/2 years postop, I don't count calories or measure things anymore.
I do tend to limit my carbs to make sure I am getting enough protien and
vegetables. Today I am not counting carbs. On a typical day I will have 2-3
cups of coffee, a protien bar, 2 diet sodas, my lunch is usually just a
smaller amount of whatever was for dinner the night before, something to
nibble on in the afternoon (nuts or string cheese), and a decent dinner
with meat protien of some sort, veggies and if I want a starch. Typically I
have a glass of wine after dinner sometime. My bottom line is I eat when I
am hungry, I don't watch every bite, and I try to avoid sugar but I don't
deprive myself of the occasional treat. 175 lbs lost in 2 years. Good Luck
to you.

I am 18 mos out and have been at my current weight since Sept. I do not
want to lose anymore weight. I have lost a total of 144 pounds and weigh
145. Yesterday consistd of the following things: 2 pc bacon and 1/2 english
muffin in the morning, Chicken breast and one Veggie at lunch, 3pm a snack
of cheese & crackers, spaggetti and meat sauce and small salad for
super, 8 oclock I had an italian ice. I do not count anything, so far this
has worked for me, I had to increase to the snacks to stop my weight loss,
I was continuing to lose and do not want to lose anymore. Hope this helps.

Hi Christine, wow, I am just 2 weeks shy of my 1 year anniversary..where
did the time go? I also do not measure anything. Here is a typical days
worth of food for me: for breakfast I always eat 1 scrambled egg with 1/2
slice of melted cheese and sometimes a dollop of veggie chili on top.
Always start your day with pure protein. Some people have a protein bar or
a protein shake for breakfast. If I have a mid morning snack its usually
1/2 a protein bar. Lunch is 1/2 of a meat sandwich, and a few WOW chips or
a few ounces of grilled meat on a salad with regular dressing. Later in
the afternoon, the other 1/2 of the protein bar or some cut up fruit.
Dinner is 3/4 of a Lean Cusine or a grilled meat/chicken/fish with a
steamed veggie. Sometimes I will make homemade chili and put cheese on
top. Snacks after dinner, choose from: popcorn, SF ice cream or SF candy,
mini bite size chocolate chip cookies, or a handful of nuts. I try to
limit to one after dinner snack but sometimes two! Head hunger sucks
doesn't it? sometimes you have to give in to it, but make it a small taste
of whatever you are craving-works better than total denial.

I am about 20 months out. I have listed on my profile what I ate a 4, 9,
and 18 months if you'd like to take a look. I don't measure either, just
eat small frequent meals and stop when satisfied. I don't go by a
"plan" as this is not a diet. But I do try to follow a simple
formula: Protein first, then fruit & veggies, and the rest if I have
room. <p>One thing you can do to help the hunger is to increase your
protein and decrease your carbs. The more carbs you eat, the more you want.
If I eat carbs for breakfast I am starving by the time I get in my car. To
keep my appetite in control, I usually eat only protein for breakfast
(eggs, cheese, cottage cheese, nuts, deli meat, etc.). I eat less often and
just LESS all day long. And I don't feel that gnawing "gotta have
something" feeling like I do if I eat cereal, waffles, bagel, toast,
etc. Good luck and hope this helps!

It's funny that you posted this question today because I've had several
people ask me about my diet and exercise over the past few days so I just
posted this information in my profile...feel free to check it out! :-)
