Question:
With Lap RNY can they remove the gallbladder at the same time.
I was wondering can you have your gallbladder removed at the same time with Lap? I know they will if you get open, but not sure about with Lap? I was told that it is best to have it removed because if not within 6 months you will most likely have to have surgery again to have it done.. Thanks — Angel S. (posted on January 21, 2003)

I had a lap, and also had my gall bladder removed. I even had an enlarged
gall bladder. My incisions were no bigger than an inch. :) Hope that
helps.

I have not had my WLS yet, but I have done alot of research and one of the
things I learned during my research on a different web site was that they
can remove the gallbadder during a lap rny. It said they calapse the
gallbladder and it comes out of one of the incessions. That is just what I
read, you would be best off asking your surgeon or doctor for sure. Hope
this helps

Yep, I had Lap RNY and a gallbladder removal at the same time. Great luck.
