I am just now starting the reconstructive process. I have my first consultations on 1/17/03. I have been doing a great deal of research and have a letter to submit with my initial request, I figure why wait for a denial. I found this web address very helpful, www.lvcm.com/njtomato/index.htm. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I was denied by Aetna for abdominoplasty and breast lift and have not appealed. I was denied at 12 months post-op and will consider soon whether or not to re-submit prior to switching to BCBS. Aetna has been getting tighter and you really have to prove medical reasons or they don't cover is what I hear. I wish you good luck if you do appeal.
