Question:
LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WITH THE SAME STATS 5ft3in 377 open RNY on 12/12/02

Im interested in seeing how others with the same stats as mine or similar and how much they have lost. Im stuck at present and not loosing. I wnat to get under 200 so badley but it doesnt seem like Im going to make it or is it still possible?    — Joyce C. (posted on January 5, 2003)

Hi, Hang in there. I am 5'3" and I weighed 347. I had open RNY on June 17, 2002. I am presently down 137 pounds. There are times when I dont think I will ever see 199, but I am 11 pounds away. Just be patient, it will happen.

I am 5'4" and started at 427 pounds. I had an open RNY on 07/17/2002 and weighed in at 301 pounds at my last official weigh-in on 12/14/02. You just had your surgery a little over 3 weeks ago - give it time. Many people gain weight during their hospital stay due to the fluids that get pumped into you and you have to lose that weight before you get back into losing "official weight". <p> You say that you are stuck, but how much have you lost since the open RNY? As far as making it or not to 200, you have got a long time to go in your window of opportunity...JR

Our stats are not too far off. When I had my open RNY on 07/08/02 I weighed in at 388lbs and I am 5'5". I weighed this morning and I have lost 117lbs, making my current weight 271lbs. I know you were looking for those who have made it under 200lbs, but I know I will get there. Just think, I have lost 117lbs and I am two days away from the 6 month post-op mark! So, as for your (and my) goal of getting under 200 pounds: It IS possible It WILL happen.
