Question:
Post-Op Adjustable Lap Band and I am STARVING!!
I had surgery on 12/30/02 and have been on a liquid diet since. I am to stay on this liquid diet for 6 weeks and I am already starving! Can anyone give me suggestions on how to weather this period without eating solids? What's worked for others who've had the AGB? — Carletta B. (posted on January 2, 2003)

I had my Lap-Band on 12/24/02 and I feel your pain. For the first 5 nights
I woke up about twice a night with my new tummy feeling like it was tieing
itself in a knot because I was so hungry. These are some things that have
helped me: Creamed condensed soups- don't add the water or milk. They
will stay in your tummy longer, the taste is richer and no extra calories.
Cream of Chicken comes in many ways, plain, with herbs, with mushrooms,
with rice, etc. Also, pudding. I love pudding! Hershey makes
"Portable Pudding" in little tubes so you can stick it in your
purse and you don't need a spoon to eat it. I never leave home without it
now because i got stuck eating an icecream Flurry one day because there was
nothing else liquid around when the hunger struck. Lastly, thick outside
the box. Someone else on this website gave me the idea of eating the
middle out of a cheese enchilada so when my husband and I went out to eat
the other day, that's just what I did. i had the broth from tortilla soup
and the topping and cheese from a cheese enchilada. it was GREAT and I was
full for the rest of the day. Hope this helps!!!

I'VE READ WHERE PEOPLE HAVE JUST CHEWED ON SOMETHING, JUST TO GET THAT
TASTE AND THEN JUST NOT SWALLOWED IT. TRY THAT OUT.
