Question:
I am having surgery this Friday & I am in need of a good protein!
I heard that taking the liquid is much easier to take than the shakes?? I need to know some names of good protein supplements & where I can get them. I am not having any luck here in town. — Beth G. (posted on December 17, 2002)

There is a koolaid looking liquid called Isopure Zero Carb that comes in
different flavors and in 20 oz glass bottles. Early post-op, I mixed it
with water and ice to cut down on the taste, and a 20 oz bottle has 40
grams of protein, so I would sip on it all day. I found it at the Vitamin
Shoppes, but you may be able to find it on-line, though I do not have the
address, perhaps others do.

Beth, I found one called "Designer Whey".it has 40 Grams of
Protein. It comes in a bottle. One Flavor was Strawberry KIWI,and they had
a couple more flavors. It is not too sweet, I like it. I also got some
powdered protein vanilla shake,2 scoops =55 Grams Protein. You only have to
add to 1 cup of milk or liquid if you want...Hope this helps Nancy Poe

Just some good advice. Don't go out and buy a bunch of protein before your
operation. I did and wound up throwing it away. You tastes change after
WLS, and you'll discover some of them will hurt your tummy, making you
nauseated. I'd contact vitalady when you are ready and ask her to mail you
some samples. It's two dollars a sample. You'll find one you like, and
can build from there. Save yourself the headaches and money about buying a
lot now. Your doctor might also have some samples you could take. Leigh
