Question:
How far behind is my weight loss? and can I still make it to under 200lbs?

Ihad an open rny 12/12/01 Im 5 ft 3 in and started out at 377lbs and am now about 247lbs I fill like a failure. I find myself hungry more often and sometimes loosing control of my eating esp at that time of the month. Has there been anyone out there with the same weight that was able to get under 200 after they were past the one year mark?    — Joyce C. (posted on December 7, 2002)

How much protein supp do you take in? Do you eat sugar? Protein supp helps cut cravings, sugar spurs them higher. Can you fill in a little about what you eat/drink in a day?

Hi Joyce, Try going back to the basics. Protein first at all times, veggies, fruits and drastically reduce the simple carbs. Also, at this time of year it is much harder to drink cold drinks to get all our liquids in. Are you still getting your 64oz. plus of liquids per day? We still need this to help flush the fat from our bodies and keep the hunger pangs away. Remember, artificial sweetners and caffeine will act as appetite enhancers. So will simple carbs. The protein digests much slower so keeps you satisfied much longer. You are not a failure! You can still get below 200lbs. but it will take a little more work on your part. I'll be a year out on the 17th of Dec. and know it is so much easier to eat without thinking now. Don't give up and trust in yourself that you can do this.

Please don't beat yourself up over this. Look how much you have already lost. I think the biggest thing is getting motivated and taking action. The last 50#'s is going to be the hardest because you want it so bad!!! I am in the same boat hun, I have about another 30#'s to loose and it's creeping off. So as others suggested I went back to basics..salmon..shrimp..broccoli...spinach...greens..and my protein supps/water..and four pounds came off very quickly. Just get motivated. If you're not already exercising start......AND AGAIN DO NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP ABOUT THIS!! TAKE CARE

I am also in the same situation as you! I had surger on 11/29/01 and have went from 364 to 225, which trust me, I am extremely happy about. If you are interested in talking about this more (since our "stories" are so similar) email me, I would love the opportunity to talk about it with you!
