Question:
Does anyone have any suggestions of what to put in a letter to the insurance company?
I need to write a letter to my insurance company and I'm in need of assistance. I want to get approved and would like to do this right the 1st time. I appreciate any help that I can get. Thank you in advance. — keaton (posted on November 25, 2002)

Hi, I just sent in my letter. They want a letter of support from your PCP
stating that you need the surgery for medical reasons, not for cosmetic.
ie: Sleep Apnea, High Blood Pressure, Degenerative Joint Disease, Diabetes,
... The more health problems, unfortunately, the better for getting an
answer quickly. Good luck and keep plugging away. The insurance companies
try to make it hard, DON'T LET THEM GET TO YOU!!!

Kim,
I would encourage you to write out all diagnois and how the weight is
affecting your life. For ex depression, fatigue cannot interact with others
possible socially intergrated, Your quality of life is affected because of
? how it affects your daily life. missed work, any physical injurys,
all the medications you may possible have to take.
Get doctor letter of medical neccessity. Get from all of your doctors if
seeing more that one. Like a orthopedic etc.
Hopefully this is helpful.
