Question:
I am sure that after my surgery 12/20/02 & my recovery I will need some work done.

I know I will need a TT & maybe a thigh lift...I have heard friends say a TT will cost around $10,000 but then I've heard others say around $3,500..... so if anyone has had a TT or even a thigh lift....please let me know... I would just like to have an idea of what I will be looking at. Oh & good luck to those still in the process of being approved for surgery & for those who already joined the other side I hope you all are happy & healthy!    — Beth G. You'll have 3 bills - One from your surgeon, one from the anesthesiologist and one from the hospital/facility. The $10,000 cost there giving you is probably the total for all 3 of these providers combined. My surgeon charged $4200 for the full abdominoplasty. He charges the same for a thigh lift. You'll be looking at about $1400 for anesthesia. The facility cost will depend on where you have the surgery performed. A hospital will be 10 times more expensive then an outpatient surgery center. Hope this helps.

I can't help with you $$$ questions, but I can tell to not make the assumption that you will need reconstructive surgery. I started out at 252 lbs. I'm 4'11" tall and in 12 months I lost 130 lbs. I'm now down to 115! I don't have to have any surgery. I do have some loose skin, but if you look at the pictures on my profile, you'll notice that any sggy skin is not a problem. I get lots of compliments about how firm I look! Any kind of surgery is a serious risk. I won't have any surgery that isn't life threatening. For me, I though prior to surgery that I would have to have a tummy tuck, but now...no way. Not unless I have to go in for something else and can have it done at the same time. Just not a big deal for me. Good luck and don't worry about something that may not come to pass. You have enough to prepare for and get through before this becomes something you have to make a decision about.
