Question:
I am 5'5
hearing from anyone around my size. I woud like to know how fast your weight came off... I know we all lose weight at our own rates... but just interested on how fast or slow I might lose. Thanks in advance for any responses. Sheryl — Sheryl W. (posted on November 13, 2002)

Well, I am 5'6 and started at 255lbs and have lost 70lbs since April 4.
70lbs in 7 months isn't too bad, but I consider myself a slow looser
anyway. Especially since I haven't really followed the "rules"
all that well. I am now gearing up to move my butt (exercise), rejoining
Weight Watchers, etc. so that I can get this last 40lbs off SOONER rather
than later. I am sure you'll do fine, and since you're a lightweight (like
me) it won't be but maybe 2-3 months before you can start shopping in the
"regular" section.

Sheryl, I'm 5'6'' in shoes :) and I started at 297. I had surgery 7 weeks
ago today and I am down 51 pounds. I have had my weeks that I could only
drink water, but all in all I'm trying to work out at least 4 times a week
if I can't get all seven in. My new life has taken a lot of getting used
to, but honestly it's been worth it. I'm hoping to be down 100 pounds by
the end of Janurary. My goal is 160 total gone......But you are right it
takes time no one looses at the same rate.

I went to your profile to see how much you weigh. Your considered a
lightweight, and will lose slower than others who have more to lose. I
started at 249, 5'3" and have lost 87 pounds in 9 months. I know
other lightweights who have lost more than me quicker and others who have
lost less than me in the same period of time. We all lose differently
depending on whether we stick to the rules, get in all our water, our age
and whether we exercise or not. But the important part of all this, we all
lose!!

I'm 5'5" and weighed in the morning before surgery at 345, ballooned
to 366 during my hospital stay...had open gastric bypass with DS on
3/6/02...this morning I weighed in at 240. My job is sedentary but I do
walk and hit the gym a few times a week, time permitting.

I am 5'2" and am almost two years post op. I was considered a
lightweight at just around 250 and am now between 150-156 - bounces up

Hi Shery: I am 5/5 and had my surgery on 4/22/02. I started at 322.5 lost
12 before surgery and gained 16 in the hospital bring me to 326. My
surgeon doesn't count those extra 4 pounds but I do. I still had to loose
it. Anyway, I'm down 93 pounds in 6 1/2 months. I've gone down 5 sizes in
pants from a 26 to a 16 and three sizes from a 4X to a 1X in tops. I could
wear a smaller top but I have huge bat wings! This surgery is the best
thing I've done for my self. Good luck to you.

Sheryl....I started at 5'5" and 253 lbs and had my surgery on July 5th
2002 . So I am about 4 months and 1 week post-op. I have lost exactly 70
lbs and am in a size 11/12. I started in a size 22. I feel so good and
wouldn't look back for anything. Good Luck. If you have anymore questions
feel free to e-mail me.

I am 5'5" and started at 241. I had lap rny on 4/9/02 so I am just
over 7 months post-op. I have lost 100 pounds so far and am down to 141.
I would like to lose another 5-10 pounds, but if I never lost another pound
I would still think this is the best thing I ever did for myself!
