Question:
Has anyone had Insurance Frustration - any suggestions?
I have UHC EPO. I am mass index 41. I have arthritis, hypertension, spurs and other related woes. My Doctor, Dr. Wongsa, office sent in my pre determine and was called w/i 4 days and told my plan had an "exclusion" clause preventing this completely. I called UHC and was told could be approved if medically needed. My DR office called back with the info and was informed the person I spoke with doesn't know everthing. Then I went to my HR rep she checked into it and it is covered if medically necessary. Called the DR back and they had received a denial letter. They are faxing my HR rep and she is checking into it. I don't know why things have to be so difficult. Makes you wonder......... — Sharon F. (posted on September 24, 2002)

Keep your chin up!!! I had to fight with my health insurance company for 13
months -- went through 3 appeals and a conference call appeal before they
finally realized I wasn't giving up. If you need help with letters and just
some emotional support let me know -- I've been there!

I have had similiar problems with my own insurance(blue cross & blue
sheild ahs network).I was told that there is a written exclusion in my
policy.I think this is unfair and I also believe discriminatory.Bigotry in
the U.S.,we overweight are the last of the socially acceptable to be
discrimminated against. I am writing an appeal and I will keep writing
until I have to resort to an attorney. NEVER GIVE UP! THIS IS OUR LIVES FOR
GOD'S SAKE!
