Question:
More info than you wanted to know, but how do I know if its constipation?

I am going about 3-4 days (3 weeks post op VBG) with out even feeling the need to poop. I took Ex-Lax and went, but it felt like I was pooping razor blades and I bled pretty bad, and it HURT! Is this happening just because I am not eating that much? And why did it hurt so bad? Was that because I took Ex-lax and didn't really need to go? I have never had constipation before that I can remember anyway, and I don't know if this is it since I just don't feel like I need to go.    — salymsmommy (posted on September 17, 2002)

I am the Queen of Constipation, and when I take a laxative and go, it never feels like razor blades and bleeds. In fact, it feels like a relief. I don't know what the problem is, but if it caused you that much pain and there was that much blood, CALL YOUR DOCTOR. It may just be a hemmorhoid (ypu, got two of 'em myself), but even so, get yourself checked out!

DON'T EVER FOOL AROUND WHEN IT COMES TO BLEEDING! CALL YOUR DOCTOR AND/OR SURGEON TOO! Bleeding is a sign that something IS going on. DON'T WAIT!
