I suffer from Hypothyroidism... does anyone know if this can be added to my list of comorbidities or will it keep me from being able to have the surgery? Sheryl [email protected] — Sheryl W. (posted on September 7, 2002)

I have had a form of hypothyroidism for many years. It was used as a
comorbidity for my surgery; I had no trouble being approved. My synthroid
dose has been reduced since I lost 109 lbs in the past 11 months. Good
luck!

I used Hypothyroidism as one of my co-morbids along with my Diabetes, High
cholesterol, Sleep Apnea, High blood pressure, etc. You name it.

Hi Sheryl!! Use it!!! I used in my letter to the insurance. It must have
mattered because my dr's office called me to let me know the insurance
called them to inquire as to what my last thyroid count was. It wouldn't
hurt I would think. Good Luck!!!
