Question:
NEED A REVISION= DS OR RNY?
WONDERING IF I SHOULD HAVE A DS OR AN RNY. WAS TURNED DOWN BY BTC DUE TO SMALL POUCH. ANY ADVICE FROM ANY ONE WHO HAD SURG OF EITHER FROM A REVISION. — Kathy B. (posted on September 1, 2002)

My surgeon does many VBG to RNY revisions. The patients loose well and are
very happy. I recommend the RNY unless your over 500 pounds. The DS is a
better option for those super super MOs. In general the DS has a greater
risk of nutritional deficencies.

I had repair to staple line, distal RNY. I could have changed types or
configurations, but I chose just to repair my distal RNY exactly as it was.
If I had some other mechanical failure, I would choose this surgery again,
just as it is.
