Question:
african-american women caucasion women hair loss

I have heard alot of stories about hair loss and the stories came from another race.Does it matter if your black or white when it comes to the hair loss problem. I would like to know,I'm a black women with very thin hair and I am wondering about the hair?    — punky (posted on August 8, 2002)

I am almost one month post op and from what I hear getting your protein in is the most definitely thing.. To answer your question I have spoken with some black women who did and some who has not lost their hair.. But to answer your question it can happen in any race..

I didn't lose any hair and I've been black all my life (ha ha). But there are black women that do lose hair. Doesn't seem to really be a formula for it. Some say protein helps. I did protein from week 3 on. Some who've done the protein (predigested shakes) still had hairloss. Have you checked out the email list of black folks (mostly women) that have had or are having the surgery? It is one of the best online support groups I've ever been a part of.
