Question:
Is there a reason to worry about a fatty liver?

The post about skim milk helping a fatty liver has interested me. It seems that being fat, you'd expect to have a fatty liver. Are there some specialproblems associated with fatty livers??    — goodgal (posted on July 31, 2002)

Fat around your liver can cause scarring to your liver which can lead to cirrohsis (sp?) which can lead to liver failure and need for a liver transplant. My surgeon said I had this surgery in the nick of time! My liver will not repair itself, but it won't get worse as long as I continue to lose weight and keep it off. Put a good scare into me! It makes surgery espically LAP more difficult. They always bioposy fatty livers. Dont worry about it, your right MO = fatty liver.
