Question:
Hi everyone! I had RNY surgery 6months ago and my sister

wants to have this surgery but she has a bad heart and the doctor won't approve her for RNY surgery. He said that he might consider the Lap Band surgery if it is done laproscopic. She is going to need a heart transplant sooner if she doesn't do something about her weight. She has tried so many times to loose weight and well you know how hard it is. I'm not from NJ and can't answer your question about docs. I was just wondering if they will let her have the LAP BAND laparscopic why would they not let her have the RNY done as a LAP. Just something to consider.

I am going to Dr. Abkin in Morristown, NJ. They do the lap band surgery, and they only do lap for the band and rny. The obesity center at Morristown Memorial is wonderful, and came highly recommended to me by many. Good luck.

My doctor is in Philadelphia, PA and does the LAPband surgery. I had the RNY, but I was just in the office yesterday and met a woman who is having the LAPband procedure done in August. He is an amazing doctor. I have more confidence in him than I can even explain. His name is Dr. Meilahn and he works out of Temple Hospital. If you would like his number, feel free to email me.
