Question:
What is Mini Gastric Bypass?

I am not considering it, I'm a post-op RYGB patient, but I came across this on the web and can't find anything that clearly tells me what mini gastric bypass is. Just curious..    — sheltie (posted on June 21, 2002)

I typed mini gastric bypass into my search engine and got a bunch of results. This page seems to have a lot of information. http://clos.net/. I know YOU are post op, but those that are reading this and considering it-please know that the procedure is controversial. Research...Shelley

Contversial...<P> There was one surgeon doing it in the carolinas , insurance quit paying him, he now does only self pay. Insurance will not cover it because of common problems with acid refux getting really bad. We have had some minis show up here with this problem. My surgeon says he would never do it and its not recommended by the bariatric surgeons association either.
