Question:
I am having trouble getting in my required daily fluid intake and would like input.
I had my surgery on May 28, 2002 and everything seems to leave an unpleasant aftertaste in my mouth. I have tried every flavor of Crystal Lite, Diet Tang and Diet Koolaid with no success. I force myself to drink because my body needs the fluid but would love to find something I actually like. (I have trouble getting all my water in as well but force it because I have to.) Sorry to ramble on and on but this is becoming a real problem for me. (FYI - I was president of the Diet Coke fan club prior to surgery...) Thank you for any help! — Andrea C. How does water TASTE? Do you experience any pain or just discomfort with
water?

Hi, I cannot stand the taste of Crystal Light or any of that nutrisweet
stuff. I have been buying regular kool-aid and sweetening it with Splenda
instead of sugar. It is Wonderful! It tastes just like regular kool-aid!
Hope this helps!

Hi. I had my surgery on 5/24 and am experiencing the same EXACT problem.
I can't stand the taste of anything sugar-free (am i already headed down
the wrong road?), with the exception of tropical sugar-free popsicles.
Lately, the only thing that does not give me a horrible aftertaste is Le
Nature's purified water with lemon, lime or grafefruit. I know it doesn't
make sense to buy it when you can just get bottled water and add some lemon
juice to it. That seems to be the only thing that tastes right to me.
Good luck!!

Thank you for all of the great suggestions. I am looking forward to trying
the flavored waters, diet snapple and koolaid! In answer to Michelle's
question, the bottled water I have tried has had a "bitter" taste
to me. Maybe it is just my tastebuds after surgery. I have found that it
is easier to get my morning water in if it is room temp. Again, thank you
everyone. It is nice to have so many people to turn to for help!
