Question:
I am a florida medicaid (medically needy) program, Please help me!

I am so discouraged. I think I have called every doctor on the list for my state when it comes to WLS. No one excepts Medicade. Has anyone in Florida found a doctor that takes the medicade, (medically needy)recentlly. I am so desperate to get this surgery, and I have no way to pay for it ($26,000)+ or - a few. This is what I would try. At the top of this page twords the right is the heading local help. Click on that a a map of the US will appear. Click on Fla. and that will give you options to look at surgens, local help and insurance. Click on insurance part and look up @page 9(it's in ABC order). There are people who have had Medicaid and got approval. The best of luck!!!!!!

Tiffiny, I was on medically needy for a while and finally got Vocational Rehabilitation to go through for my surgery. IF it is medically necessary, they will do it. Now it may take a while, so be patient, but if you hold out, it will work.

Dr Haiken in Largo has taken medicaid patients before hes a good surgeon with a close to perfect reputation and hes got a great support group as well,its quite aways from you but im sure it would be worth it to you to give his office a call--- 727-586-3751 hope this helps good luck to you!

Thanks for all your help. I have already went through every doc on the list in my state with no luck. The best chance I had was a doc in Pembroke Pines but he is moving to another state.Oh well, please keep giving me advice because I really need it. I am very discouraged. Also if there is anyone reading this that has the same problem please post it hear so I know I am not alone. Thanks

I believe that Dr. William (Todd) Overcash in Ocala accepts medicaid. He is my doctor and he was great. But i have to tell you, he is not one to sit and hold your hand, he is a very straight forward doctor, but that is one of the things I liked about him. Good luck and let me know what you find out.
