Question:
I am currently in the process of
requested some additional information last week... today I called back my doctors office & they said they finally recieved info requested from the insurance. They are requesting a test..."endocrine". I have had this done years ago but they think it would be best to have a new one done. Which is fine w/ me. Do you think this is a good sign... because if that is all they need then great! Is this the begining of a long drawn out process or should I be exicted that this is all the requested? :) — Beth G. (posted on May 15, 2002)

I had surgery 12/01. In the beginning of 6/01 I called the office to see if
they had received approval from the insurance yet. When they contacted the
insurance , the ins wanted them to do a TSH (which is an endocrine test to
check for hypothyroidism). I had one done 3/00 and it was fine, but the
insurance said I had to have it within the year before they would approve.
I had the test and it showed slight hypothyroidism. My PCP started me a a
low dose of synthroid which I am still on, It did not affect the approval
process.
