Question:
Am I eating too much or is my pouch stretching?

I am 14 months post-op and I can now eat more than I have since I had the surgery. I am worried that I will start to gain the weight back. I have lost 200 pounds and do not want to go back to that old way of life. It really worries me.    — Dynel B. (posted on March 16, 2002)

Your pouch does stretch, but you shouldn't be able to eat as much as you could pre-op, which is one of the reasons this surgery is successful in the long-run (it's easier to maintain). I am 12.5 months post-op, and I can usually eat about 1800 calories/day. Is that how much you can eat?
