Its put in while your asleep and is just uncomfortable while attached.
Removal hurts a bit, but only for a second. Dont worry its not bad.

Up the Ying Yan. ;) Bob is right. They put it in while you are asleep and
it does'nt hurt to much coming out. Unfortunately I've had those put in
while I was awake and it hurts then. But nothing to worry about. I don't
really see why you would need one during WLS anyway. I did'nt have one.
Anyway unless you have urethral stictures (like I had tons of at one time)
it should'nt hurt. Not pleasant, but not painful. If you have to go
through it while you are awake then think of something else. Vacation, your
favorite place, sports or anything. You can get through alot with
"mind tricks".

Ok, guys...The tube goes down through the middle of the penis (while you
are asleep) and it should not be too uncomfortable after surgery. They
usually take it out the next morning after surgery. I have placed many
foley caths in men and women and I always used Xylocaine to numb the area
so I never had complaints when I put one in. I wish all nurses would be
this considerate. I worked for Hospice for 11 years so I had to keep my
patients comfortable and that is why I made sure I didn't hurt them
unnecessarily. If you have to have one..ask for them to numb it...Good
luck!!!
