Question:
Does any one else have pain in the morning when they first eat. I am a 4weeks post .
I have tried to stay with really soft foods, but I stil seem to have some pain. I thought maybe trying to drink a liquid first. I know the pain is not a over eating pain. I know what that feels like . — christie K. (posted on February 3, 2002)

Hi, I am 6 weeks post op. I have had that same pain. Like the other poster
all I needed was a few sips of water. I then wait 15 mins. or so until I
eat a soft meal. I hope this helps you too!

I am going through something simular as you as I am 6 weeks post-op. My Dr.
said I am in the 10% catagory who get alot of mucus in my stomach. Eating
breakfast is almost impossible. I drink a small cup of green tea with lemon
and honey and a hour later I can eat alittle something. Thank God I don't
smoke anymore because this mucus problem would have been a alot worse. Good
Luck to you

I am three months post op and I still can't tolerate anything for the first
hour that I am awake. After the first hour I can eat about 3 bites and then
I'm full. The next meal I can eat 1/2 cup. I think of my new tummy like a
baby, it's got it's own schedule and will throw a fit if you feed it
something it doesn't want at that moment. Give it a few weeks and you'll
figure out your "baby's" schedule too.

I don't feel pain, but nausea in the morning. There is NO way I can eat
until I have had a whole glass of watered down juice or a cup of coffee. I
get up at 7:30 or so and I usually don't eat any food until around 10:30.
I was kinda like this pre-op too. I would have just 1 pc. of sourdough
toast and some coffee until lunch. I almost feel like I have to PRIME my
tummy for food...by drinking liquid first.
