Question:
I was wondering if anyone knows of a surgeon in Maine that takes Medicare or Medicaid

I seem to keep finding ones that don't take Medicare or Medicaid. I would like help finding one if anyone has any ideas. Thanks    — mainechickie06 (posted on December 21, 2001)

I did a little research for you. I went to the "find a doc" page and followed the links to the Maine surgeon's list. There are 5 surgeon's listed and I found 2 that accept either Medicaid or Medicare. The first, Roy Cobean in S. Portland has done a couple of surgeries and accepted Medicare for payment. The second, Donald Clough in Bangor, did surgery on 8/28/01 and accepted Medicaid. If you go to the Maine surgeon's page and find each listing for insurance, click on the insurance name (in blue) and you will be linked to that member's profile. If you want, then you could e-mail them your specific questions about this surgeon/insurance. Hope this helps.Shelley

Dr. Georgitis in Biddeford also accepts Medicare/Medicaid patients.
