Question:
Does anyone know how long you should wait for WLS after giving birth?
A friend of mine would like to have WLS shortly after giving birth so that she would be able to do all of her time off from work at the same time..is there any medical reason they dont recommend this? — [Anonymous] (posted on December 2, 2001)

Would she birth natural or C-section? Would she be breastfeeding? I think
those things all need to be taken into consideration. Also, it took me
five months just to get a CONSULT much less a surgery date. She should
check with her insurance and call around to a few surgeons.... she might
not be able to just as a time factor. Good luck to you both!

I FOUND OUT 10 MIN. BEFORE SURGERY I WAS PREGNANT!!! TALK ABOUT
SHOCKERS!!! I HAD NO IDEA. MY DOC SAID I COULD HAVE IT 4 WEEKS AFTER I
DELIVER. I WOULD JUST HAVE TO CALL & RESET MY PRE-OP APPT TO GET MY
SURGERY DATE. EVERYTHING IS ALREADY IN ORDER. GOD BLESS, CASS.
