Question:
Does anyone know of a surgeon who does the lap through Kaiser Ins?

If you're speaking about Kaiser Northern CA, the docs are mostly doing open now. I had heard that one was doing lap, but then a person on here said that doctor had a problem with leaks, so he's doing open again. If you want to know the procedure with Kaiser, check my profile. It's a long wait, and you have to do things in order and meet the criteria. I was just approved a few weeks ago, and was told there are 200 people "in line" ahead of me, and they only do 24 of these surgeries a month. So by the time I get my surgery it will be at least 10-11 months from the time my PCP sent my referral in. Also, you don't get to see the surgeon for a consult until you are approved. Ask for the Gastric Bypass Surgery for Severe Obesity booklet through Kaiser Health Education...it will tell you everything you need to know in order to meet the criteria for approval.
