Question:
Any post-ops that had PCOS pre-op
I would like to hear from post-ops that had PCOS pre-op. I am wanting to know if the facial hair gets any better or stays the same. — [Anonymous] (posted on July 29, 2001)

I am a post-op with PCOS. I am only 10 weeks, so no longterm knowlegde
here. Even at ten weeks though I have noticed that my facial hair is
growing a lot slower than before. According to my endocrinologist I have a
"textbook" case of PCOS and we are both excited to see how
treating the obesity will help. I am just ecstatic that the facial hair
has slowed.

All my symptoms are the same 14 months post-op. I still shave my face
every day & still take provera to force my periods.

I am 1 year post op, and while my periods are now regular, my body/facial
hair has not been affected. My Endo says this will take time. It may be
two or three years before I see major results. The hair didn't sprout
overnight, so it will not dissappear as fast either....
When I was about 3-4 months out it did seem that the hair growth was
slowing down, but I think it was only temporary.
My depression, acne and receeding hairline are ALL improved 100%.
I am down 90lbs. from 277. I still have more to lose, so I think it will
be a while for I can say "this is it"...
