Question:
did you take phen-fen or redux?
if any of you took phen-fen or redux you need to visit this site www/leftlaw.net and www.dietdrugsettlement.com to find out how to get monetary reimbursement and to make sure that NO damage was done to your health... thankyou — viola C. (posted on July 20, 2001)

Thanks for the info. Yes, I did take Phen-fen and I cried for days
when they took it off the market. It worked wonderfully for me. I'm
totally convinced that I could have lost weight and avoided surgery (I
was halfway to my goal....) if I could have continued with it. It had
risks; but so does obesity and so does wls. The problem with phen-fen
was that some doctors dispensed it to everyone who asked for it and there
were
too few controls in place. I've had my cardiac echo...I'm fine and
certainly
don't feel entitled to $$ when I didn't suffer any damaging effects. In my
case, my doc was quite open about the possibility of cardiac
problems if I used it for more than six months. The decision was always
mine to
make...not my doctor's.

Viola, Sorry for the flame, but this topic is not appropriate on this
forum. We are not about the diet drug suits, etc. We are a support group
for WLS and most of us have tried every diet out there, some the diet drugs
as well. Many of us hope you do not have the need to brow beat the subject
over and over in future postings!
