Question:
What can I do about this dreaded skin irritation?
I have been putting off asking this question because it is so embarrassing. I had my surgery in Feb. and have lost 80 pounds. I knew I would eventually get the panni rashes, but I didn't think it would happen this soon. I am 45 pounds from goal weight. I am in the middle of moving and really do not want to go to the doctor for this. What can I use on this, if anything? I am documenting it by pictures so I have it for future use for a tummy tuck. Can I use Nystatin cream? Please help. I will be living in limbo for the next 4 weeks as we move. — Trina L. (posted on July 11, 2001)

I'm preop but my belly hangs and I get rashes, and yes it's embarrassing,
ick, but I find cortaid really helps. I put it on once in the morning and
once at night and within 24 to 48 hours it's much much better. Good luck

Hi. I used to get the rashes all the time pre-op, but post-op, even with a
small apron developing, I haven't had the problem. Anyway, I used to use
Lotrimin AF spray (over the counter), and would get IMMEDIATE relief.
Usually by day two it was almost gone and within 3-4 days, It would be
gone. Good luck.

First of all get these rashes documented with your regular family
doctor PCP or surgeon..So that you have a paper trail in the future for
panni surgery if you desire it.. Now, the rash is a yeast infection most
likely NOT affected by antibiotics OTC ointments your doctor can
prescribe something for the rash..

My doctor gave me Mycolog cream it is a prescription and it is also
called.. Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream. I would ask your
Doctor about it. I have had slight rashes before and i was using powder for
the moist places, even thougt I thought I was drying my skin the best way
possible. I started the cream today and I am hoping it will work.
