Question:
My consult is in four months, should I get 'hoops' out of the way? Psych eval etc?
It's June, my consult with my surgeon of choice is in October. I can't get my insurer to give me specifics on what they require, but could I and should I go ahead and schedule a psych eval and consult with a nutritionist/dietcician and get them out of the way? Anything else helpful I could do in the next 120 days? Thanks! — Joscelin (posted on June 11, 2001)

Hi, I agree with Barb...not all surgeon's require everything....mine only
wanted a psych eval..but nothing with a dietician.....You could try calling
your surgeon's office, and they may be able to let you know what is
required....good luck, Karan

Hello! Thank you ladies for your input! I have a nurse practitioner who
would walk through FIRE to help me get this surgery, so I don't think
referrals are a problem..
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea almost three years ago, so that's one test
I can pass on.. I will take your sage advice to heart on the other matters.
Many thanks again!
~Peace! Julie
