Question:
6 months post op-down 95 pounds , I have not lost anything in my DD breast
I have lost inches across my back but not in cup, has anyone had a reduction after 6 months? I do not know if I can get it done yet since I am still losing. I have 30 to 40 pounds yet — [Anonymous] (posted on June 8, 2001)

I am a pre-op, now 315, but when I was 250 I had a surgeon examine me for a
breast reduction and he told me to loose weight first so that I will be
proportionate. I would wait until the weight loss is at a stopping point.
Although my name doesn't end with M.D. I thought I would let you know what
I was told by a professional. Good Luck and Congratulations on the loss.

I AM JUST NOW STARTING TO LOOK INTO WLS ...I CAN LET YOU KNOW THOUGH,
REGARDING BREAST REDUCTION, (I HAVE BEEN WORKING AT A PLASTIC SURGEEON'S
OFFICE FOR 2 AND 1/2 YEARS..) IT'S BEST TO WAIT. I'VE SEEN A COUPLE OF
PEOPLE APPROVED FOR BREAST REDUCTIONS AFTER WLS. THE INSURANCE COMPANIES
APPROVE BASED ON YOUR WEIGHT AND HEIGHT...THEN THEY HAVE A TABLE THEY USE
TO SEE IF YOU ARE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE...E MAIL ME, AND I CAN GIVE YOU MORE
INFORMATION

I am also 6 months post-op and have lost 80lbs. I am still an F cup -
right where I started. I have gone from a 42F to a 38F. My Doc also said
that I should wait about a year for my weight to stabilize. If you do have
a reduction done now, and then do lose some in your cup size, the results
might not be as good. I am waiting for my 1 year mark to decide if I want
a reduction or just a lift.

I lost 100 pounds back in 1994 after having my last child and finishing
breast feeding. At that time (at 150 pounds) I had a breast reduction as I
wore a size 42HH bra and the weight was causing me to loose feeling in my
right arm. I then put on the weight that I had lost plus another 40
pounds. I was a 36DD after the reduction, and at the time of my RNY on
9/11/01 I was wearing a 42DD. Now a bit more than a year later I have lost
at least 100 pounds and am back in a 36DD. At nearly 50 years old the
weight gain and loss did not seem to make much difference in the size of my
breasts - it is almost as if they remembered what size they were supposed
to be! LOL
