Question:
Anyone hear of Dr. Newhoff from Phoenix AZ

I just got approved by my insurance for surgery. I am on a wait list and I am going through Weight For life. Anyone hear of Dr. Newhoff from Phoenix AZ?    — Jennifer L. (posted on May 27, 2001)

Dr. Newhoff did my surgery 9 months ago and I have lost 110 pounds. He is very experienced with open RNY as well as being a trauma surgeon. He has done so many of theese surgeries that sometimes it seems like he is playing a recording when he talkes to you, but I'm sure many of the doctors are like that. He is caring and compassionate. I was going to talk to some other doctors in the Phoenix area but didn't after I met Dr. Newhoff. I also felt very comfortable going to Good Samaritan Hospital. I'm a Phoenix native and that has always been our hospital of choice (I was even born there!). I will tell you that the most frustrating part is working with the Weight for Life people. You need to be patient as they are VERY busy and not necessarily very caring. Feel free to email me if I can be of assistance to you or if you have any questions.

I researched a little for you. Go to the top of any page an click on the "find a doc" link. Then click on Arizona. You will see a listing of surgeons and Dr. Newhoff is the first listed. If you click "view comments" you will see a whole bunch of patient comments a long with their e-mail addresses if you want to ask further questions about their experiences. In addition, there is a list of insurers that he has had approve patients for surgery. It is a very helpful page on this site. Hopes this was helpful. Shelley
