Question:
Surgery at methodist hospital in San Antonio, TX?
Hi, this question is for antone who has had surgery with Dr. Reiss, Pilcher, or Selinkoff at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX...I am scheduled for July 23 and have been told that I will be responsible for 10% of the hospital bill (United Healthcare POS)...I know I have to pay the surgeons fees upfront, but I was wondering if the hospital also requires the co-pay upfront?..I am in no way complaining, I just want to be prepared in case I need to come up with more money. Thanks in advance. — Angelia M. (posted on May 22, 2001)

I to was very worried about that..because I have a 20% out of pocket co-pay
to the hospital..I even took monday off to get things str8..4 my surgery is
on the 9th of july..so I called and talked with the hospital and my
insuance to find out of there's an..annual out of pocket limit..and mine is
$1,500 so I won't have to pay more then that...and thats as far..as
co-payments to other doctors and such...anyway onces i hit that iam covered
100%..plus I have to pay my surgeon..$1,100 so if I have to pay the
hospital anyting it well be less the $500 bucks..I hope this has
helped...good luck and god bless you with your surgery and
recovery..adrena...:-))
