Question:
What has been the most successful weight loss technique before your surgery?
The surgeon has recommended that I lose weight prior to my Lap RNY (no date yet). I was just wondereing what has been successful, or recommended, to you by your physician. Thanks in advance - — Whitney D. (posted on March 27, 2001)

My surgeons wants me to lose 18lbs before surgery. I am currently on the
Atkins Diet and feel great. I have so far lost 13lbs (in 3 1/2 weeks).
The basis of the diet is no/low carbs. This means no breads, pasta, sugar,
fruit, etc. Since I am off the sugar and high carbs foods, I think it will
help me after my surgery (since I can't have most of that stuff anyway).
Also, excersize and drinking lots of water is important in losing weight..
Good Luck to you!!
