Question:
Who lets you know you are approved?
I may be counting my eggs before they hatch, but when the day comes I get word of approval, who calls you? The surgeons office or the Insurance Co? If they do not reach you at home will they call your work? Once they know you are approved are they any more or less friendly than before? — Kimberly L. (posted on March 17, 2001)

The insurance company should send a letter both to you and your doctor.
Your doctor should call you at whatever number you've instructed them to
try. However, the quickest method of finding out you have been approved is
to keep calling your insurance company. The customer service people will
have the information on-line even before the letter is sent. I found out
this way that I was approved on the Monday after I was approved, even
though the letter didn't arrive until Thursday.
